A domain name is an address on the Internet, similar to a postal code. The computer requires a combination of letters or numbers to find certain websites on the Internet. The user of the computer puts this combination of these into the address bar. To make it simpler, rather than remembering a series of confusing numbers (Internet Protocol or IP address) the user types a usually more memorable text or word combination in the address bar.

The beginning of the address is the protocol identification number, which tells the computer where the address is found. The second part contains the source name to the IP address that identifies the origin of the domain. The protocol identification number and source name are separated by a colon and two slashes.

A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) specifies the global address of resources on the World Wide Web. The web page or site is entered through the URL. All the websites accessible on the World Wide Web begin with www.

A website is a collection of pages, images, videos and digital information with a common domain name or an IP address on a network. A Web site is hosted by one or several Web servers that allows access through the Internet or a private network. A website is a document in text format combined with HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language).

Thousands of domain names are registered every day. It is estimated that over the next ten years, at least half a billion new domains will be set up! It is important to register your specific web site domain names, because after registration of a certain name, for the duration of the registration it will not be available for anyone else. If someone else registers that domain name before you, you can not get it. If you need a specific domain name for business purposes, please register this as soon as possible before someone else does.
